Sport And Shorts (At The Stag Victoria)

Image
In 1999 an acquaintance and I hosted a Gay Sports Kit Night over the Easter Bank Holiday at The Greyhound in North London. We'd met a few weeks earlier in a bar where we'd both worn Football shirts and we got chatting. You didn't see many Gay blokes out in the late 1990s in Football kit. Sadly I have NO pictures from the first Sports Kit night We had about 10 people turn up to the first one and it was a great night one guy travelled all the way from Manchester for it. One guy showed up in Tennis Kit and another in Swimming trunks which gave us all a Laugh. We wanted to make it bigger & started asking Gay venues in central London if we could host a Sports Kit night. Step foward Steve the manager from the Stag Victoria we asked and he said yes and it all grew from there. We had someone in advertising who helped out with Posters and Flyers for the promotion. ...

Club SOP WS Club For Men!

Now I've had a love of Piss Play from an early age ever since I pissed over myself in the bath when I was about 14. Gay guys used to freak out when I mentioned WS Once spent the night in Barcode in Soho asking guys to fill my water bottle up with piss that freaked a few guys out! In 1999 I saw an advert in QX magazine which piqued my interest for a Gay Watersports Club called P.I.S (Pleasure in Streams) When I say Watersports I don't mean Kayaking or surfing! So I went to Central Station in Kings cross to experience the first piss fest. I wasn't disappointed I was dressed in my Leeds Kit and it got very WET. The crowd were friendly and everyone had lots of fun. A few years later the name was changed to SOP (Streams of Pleasure) The club is a no attitude venue and the crowd are always Friendly. I haven't been for a few years but I see that the club is always busy these da...

Rockies Sheffield (The Forgotten Gay Nightclub?)

Image
I was reminded about a pub I used to frequent in the city of Sheffield recently. The Cossack on Howard Street (Now Demolished) was the first Gay Venue I was ever taken to followed by a pub called The Albert Which is where I saw my first ever male stripper and drag artiste. Don't like strippers the baby oil stains your shirt if you get too close So it got me thinking about Rockies the nightclub that I was introduced to in November 1989 Rockies was a Gay Club and you didn't dare mention your sexuality for fear of being beaten up by some Homophobic THUG. Queer Bashing was common in the late 80s. The late 1980s & early 1990s were an Awful time to be growing up as a Gay man. Section 28 didn't help matters. So much rampant Homophobia and Abuse from people I never really expected to get it from Rockies Sheffield was sister club to Rockies Manchester owned by a guy called Michael Snailham. The club was housed in the former...

35 Years Out And Proud (My Gay Anniversary)

Image
In 1987 a DJ thought he was being clever at an Under 18s Disco at a Nightclub. He OUTED ME AS GAY I'm not sure IF he'd been Dared to do it by some Idiot. Either way I cannot forgive the DJ for doing it, It was cruel and unjust. After he OUTED me I got lots of hassle off straight lads in the club & I should have complained to the Manager about the DJ. One of my Female school friends offered me a lift home that night after the disco finished just so I didn't get lynched. Turned out accepting that lift home was the most sensible thing I could have done that night. I have NEVER denied who and what I am & I guess thats what got up some peoples noses. I couldn't go anywhere in my home town without being called QUEER or other abusive names by lowlife scum. I got my nose broken by a punch from behind in one attack I knew I was DIFFERENT when I was at Infants/Junior S...
